Description | Cycling shoes are meant to conform to your foot with a stiff platform to improve your pedalling efficiency. But without the right support, pushing the pedals can take a toll on your feet, sometimes causing pain, pressure, and discomfort. Bontrager inForm BioDynamic insoles with Superfeet are engineered to harmonise the interface between body, shoe and bike, giving you the complete foot support you need to ensure mile after mile of pain-free pedalling. Bontrager inForm BioDynamic Insoles were developed in close partnership with Superfeet, a global leader in insole design, development, and technology. Starting with Bontrager's in-depth understanding of the unique requirements of cyclists, and leveraging Superfeet's 30+ years of experience making insoles, this collaborative effort brings to market the finest quality, best performing cycling-specific insoles available today. The key to Bontrager's advanced foot support is the proprietary 3D Arch, which has been painstakingly engineered to support all arches of the foot. By taking into account not just the medial or longitudinal arch, but also the transverse and lateral arches, the 3D Arch provides an unparalleled level of support and helps to align and stabilise the foot for balanced pressure distribution and maximum energy transfer. The insoles come in three arch heights: low, mid, and high. Arch index 1: designed for riders with "flat feet" or a naturally low arch height. Arch index 2: designed for riders with an average arch height. This is a great option for most riders. Arch index 3: designed for riders with high arches and greater collapse. In store we have a sizing tool with thermochromic material that leaves an impression of the rider's foot to determine the correct arch height needed. - Engineered for unparalleled foot control, pedalling efficiency and comfort - 3D Arch Pillar provides optimal arch support for improved knee alignment - Precision-moulded heel cup helps to stabilise and align the foot - A footrest metatarsal pad helps to reduce or eliminate hot foot - inForm BioDynamics: optimises natural movement for sustained, higher performance Ten products I loved in 2017: David Everett, CyclingTips, November 2017 (see here): "I have a thing for insoles. It boils down to the simple fact that for the past ten years I've suffered from "achy feet" - I think that's the official medical term, anyway. So finding insoles that actually support the two lumps of meat on the end of my legs for the duration of a ride and allow me to return home pain-free is a godsend. Bontrager's inForm BioDynamic insoles do just this. I was fitted up for these insoles while at the Trek Emonda SLR launch earlier in the year and have been using them ever since. Bontrager offers three different arch supports for varying foot shapes. They've been developed in conjunction with Superfeet, who have been in the insole business for over 30 years. At first, they do feel slightly odd, as if they're throwing my ankles outwards and rotating the whole foot on their sides slightly, but after one long ride, I was convinced. It's a very personal thing, but if you do suffer from sore feet or just want to look after your feet a little better than I have, I'd fully recommend you check the inForm insoles out. Finding a local shop who will correctly size and fit you is paramount, though. I still don't have completely ache-free feet, but I can't expect that for me, and the insoles have reduced my post-ride frozen toe problem considerably: so much so that I no longer interrupt a Netflix session by the irritating clicking of my toes." |
