Description | The new synonym for victory, the Protone Icon helmet features the latest technological advances in safety, ventilation and aerodynamics to make it an icon of road cycling. The Protone Icon takes its design from KASK's serial winning Protone helmet and has improved upon it in every way possible. A redesigned internal frame gives the wearer greater safety. Seamless technology joins the lower and upper parts of the shell to give it a refined, elegant look and improved aerodynamics. The new OCTOFIT+ adjustment system optimises the helmet's comfort and stability, while a vertical stabiliser across the nape of the neck provides ergonomic neck support and delivers enhanced balance and a customised fit. Its large rotation cap coated in a special rubber increases finger grip, and a reflective insert in the rear helps keep the helmet's wearer even safer. The internal lining is made of CoolMax fabric which, as well as being comfortable and quick drying, is also removable and washable. As is standard with all KASK helmets, the Protone Icon has been developed in accordance with the KASK ROTATIONAL IMPACT WG11 TEST protocol, an objective, scientific approach to measuring the helmet's performance against rotational impacts. - WG11: the WG11 test is a protocol adopted by Kask to identify an objective method for measuring the performance of its helmets against rotational impacts. This is based on scientific sources including the standards of the technical committee on head protection of the CEN (The European Committee for Standardization), a group known as the Working Group 11 (WG11). Most tests on helmets that use rotational impact prevention technologies are carried out using headforms whose coefficient of friction is much higher than those of the human skull and therefore do not reflect reality. The Kask WG11 test is simple, robust, and reliable, with impact conditions based on real accident data. The Protone Icon, like all Kask helmets, successfully passes this test. - The Protone Icon has an incredibly aerodynamic and top performing shell, tested in the wind-tunnel and able to provide a really impressive CX rate. Whichever position the rider's head assumes, the outflow of the air will be perfectly in line with the helmet. - Octo Fit+ retention system: the new over-injected rubber dial provides improved finger grip. The vertical stabiliser has been redesigned for greater stability providing a customised fit for riders with longer hair. The ergonomic neck support ensures a fast and secure fit against the back of the head. - MIT Technology, applied to all KASK cycling helmets, guarantees a higher safety and a complete protection thanks to the polycarbonate layer that covers the shell on the top, on the base ring and on the back. - Chin pad with hypoallergenic and washable eco-leather chinstrap is extremely comfortable and helps to avoid irritation of the skin - Inner frame: the innovative inner strengthening frame offers a greater mechanical strength and a better compactness. In case of shock it prevents the helmet from breaking into many pieces, allowing greater safety for every rider. - High visibility stickers for maximum safety even in poor visibility conditions - 3D Dry tridimensional padding has a multi-layer open cell construction that helps transport heat and sweat away from the head more quickly. Coolmax lined pads are removable and washable. - Weight: 230g (medium) - Helmet bag included - Meets CE EN 1078, CPSC 1203 and AS/NZS 2063 standards |
