Details Advanced frame and fork The Diem has an alloy frame that's light and tough enough to shrug off knocks and bumps. Diamond Glide is a patented design that allows the frame to flex vertically, absorbing bumps and giving a smooth ride on rougher streets. Advanced manufacturing techniques allow Orbea to enhance the design with invisible welds, reduce weight, and optimise the frame rigidity. Balancing rigidity and weight is vital to improve handling and add fun. Meanwhile, the carbon fibre fork helps to absorb vibrations, save weight and add precision to steering and braking. Secure Battery System The Secure Battery System allows the design of better looking, slimmer frames, while removing weight and also increasing stiffness. It all adds up to the best ride.  Batteries are built into the downtube, protected from knocks and theft. By designing their own batteries, and using the latest cell technology, Orbea can fit more power into a smaller, lighter package. Most people will need to charge their Diem less than once a week. High Power The reliable Shimano EP6 motor effectively has four times the strength of an average rider. Using an array of sensors, which measure every push on the pedals, speed and acceleration, Diem reacts instantly to your inputs, anticipating what you want and adjusting the power accordingly.  There are three assistance modes for you to choose from. The remote control on the handlebar is easy to control and the integrated LED lights tell you which mode you are in. In the top mode you have easy access to the full power of the motor, meaning you can ride to work effortlessly and arrive fresh. The lowest assistance mode places more demands on your legs, raising your heart rate as you speed through the streets and enjoy the way home. Smart Charger The smart charger constantly monitors the battery while charging to give the safest, fastest charge possible.  Safety It's no secret the city can be a jungle sometimes. With Diem you can be confident, because safety is designed in from the start. Confident handling, powerful hydraulic disc brakes and grippy, puncture resistant tyres make it easy to react to unexpected moments. The powerful motor makes it easy to slot into traffic and take control. Every time you switch on your Diem, the wrap-around lights power up in sequence. This is not just for looks; these lights are designed to keep you visible day or night. The Supernova headlight is integrated into the handlebar. This gives it be protection from damage and theft, and also removes obstructions from the light beam, making you more visible. It switches on automatically when it's dark to increase your visibility and ability to see the way ahead. The rear light, sleekly integrated into the mudguard, gets brighter when you brake, helping alert the traffic behind you. This safety feature allows you to calmly focus on the road ahead knowing your back is covered. Useful Features Simplicity is key to reliability. Designing the components, accessories and frame to work together lets us offer simple solutions which increase functionality and reliability. - Phone holder: the one piece stem and handlebar is designed to make mounting your mobile phone secure and easy with the integrated SP Connect system.  - USB-C charger: the top tube power outlet offers a USB-C connection for charging your mobile phone on route. You can also connect any USB-C compatible device you want.  - Clean cockpit: the patented cockpit uses a simple, robust and adjustable clamping system, giving the cleanest look as well as making everything easier than ever to adjust.  - Integrated kickstand: the kickstand pivots from the centre of the bike and integrates neatly when not in use, giving increased stability and security.  - Easy access: the low-slung unisex frame makes it easy to mount and dismount, adding security, even if you have to come to an unexpected stop.  - Mudguards: robust and adjustable, Diem's mudguards won't deform or rattle.  - Rear carrier: the solid and robust rear rack works with traditional pannier hooks, Ortlieb QL 3.1, MIK and MIK-side mounting systems and can carry up to 20kg.  - Trailer compatibility: an optional adaptor makes Diem 20 compatible with Thule, Burley, Croozer and Hamax trailers.  - Airtag ready: hidden on Diem is a space to mount an Airtag, or any compatible tracker to help you find your bike in case of theft. |
