Style | The Roscoe 7 is a hardtail for riders who want to have a blast ripping up the trail. A plush 140mm suspension fork, 29er wheels, and a wide-range drivetrain with plenty of gears make this bike great for new riders yet playful enough to make even the most experienced shredders smile. Highlights: - Roscoe gets a lot rowdier with a new frame and geometry plus the ability to handle up to 150mm of fork travel - 29er wheels and wide 2.6" tyres make for a grippy, confident and fast-rolling ride - The dropper post lets you lower your saddle on the fly so it's out of the way on descents - The RockShox fork's Solo Air spring can easily be adjusted for a specific rider weight, and it's lighter than a coil spring - The fork's lockout feature lets you temporarily lock the suspension for better efficiency on flat stretches It's right for you if... You're new to the trail and want a fun and accessible hardtail that keeps you confident and in control when the trail gets rough. Or, you're a more experienced trail rider and you want a hardtail that knows how to party when you're out riding with friends. The tech you get A lightweight aluminium frame, fast-rolling 29er wheels with wide, grippy 2.6" tyres and a 140mm RockShox Recon fork with a lockout. It's equipped with a reliable Shimano 1x12 drivetrain with a wide range of gears for climbing, powerful hydraulic disc brakes and a dropper post for room to get low on descents, corners and jumps. Upgrades from Roscoe 6: - New frame with progressive geometry: a longer reach, slack 65-degree head tube angle, steep 73-degree seat tube angle and tight 430mm chainstays combine to make a playful and confidence-inspiring ride - More travel: new Roscoe 7 has 140mm of front suspension, 20mm more than Roscoe 6 - Bigger wheels: with fast-rolling 29" hoops and grippy 2.6" wide tyres, Roscoe 7 is more than ready to help riders go big - RockShox Recon Silver RL air fork - 1x12 Shimano Deore drivetrain - Bontrager Line 30 wheels and Bontrager XR4 Team Issue tyres, pre-installed with a complete tubeless setup, including rim strips, valves and sealant - Stiffer Boost 148 rear thru axle - Dual-density downtube guard and a full-coverage chainstay guard - Universal derailleur hanger Next model up:Roscoe 8 Trek Roscoe 7 review, NSMB.com (see [here for full review): "The Trek Roscoe 7 delivers balanced, modern geometry, a Deore M6100 12-speed drivetrain - including a Shimano crankset, a dropper post, a 140mm suspension fork, and comes setup tubeless with good rubber for 1650 USD | 1880 CAD plus pedals and tax. Yep, it's a superb value in a fantastic looking hardtail. Maybe it's vain, but I love how great the Roscoe 7 looks and I think any of the three colour choices is a winner. Trek makes plenty of significantly more expensive bikes that don't look half as sweet. It's a bike that's rideable right out of the box, with a couple of semi-mandatory upgrades depending on the use case, and that appears worthy of upgrading. My biggest complaint I have is probably that calling the paint finish "Teal/Trek Black" is a lame way of describing the sweet black splatter on cobalt blue with sunrising Trek logo finish. Actually, all three finish options for this bike look great to the extent that I'd ride any of them, and I can't think of a better looking bike under 2K CAD. I'm stoked on the Roscoe 7. I think it's the best looking bike in it's price range, the fit works great for me, and the drivetrain is excellent." |
