Description | Q-Rings have subtle but efficient ovality that enhances your pedalling performance. This oval chainring is part of ROTOR's modular ALDHU and VEGAST system. It is compatible with the ALDHU crank, ROTOR's lightest crankset ever, and also with 4-bolt Shimano cranks. When mounted to ROTOR's ALDHU or VEGAST cranks (separate spider required), Q-Rings can be adjusted in 1-degree increments to your Optimum Chainring Position (OCP). When mounted to Shimano cranks, the chainrings are set to intermediate position OCP3, which is the position most frequently used by road riders. For a perfect aesthetic integration with Shimano cranks, available separately are sets of bolt covers for the different crank models. With Q-Rings you can ride further and faster with less fatigue because you are using your muscles more efficiently. Thanks to their oval shape, Q-Rings boost cycling performance by varying drivetrain resistance during pedalling inline with the legs' natural strengths and weaknesses. By orienting the narrowing diameter of the oval to the weakest point of the pedal stroke and the widening diameter to the strongest point of the pedal stroke, you can take full advantage of the most-productive part of your pedal rotation (while lessening time spent in the least-productive part). In other words oval Q-Rings optimise the ability of your legs to deliver increased power while reducing the negative effects of dead-spots, making your spin cycle smoother, climbing easier on the legs, and helping to reduce the build up of lactates during hard efforts. FEATURES AND BENEFITS - More uniform power delivery due to the modulation of the gear ratio every moment. Rotor Q-Rings are designed to obtain a soft, comfortable way of pedaling with uniform muscular work, so they allow an easy and quick adaptation. Rotor Q-Rings give a smoother power transfer, helping to maintain traction on slippery surfaces, and to avoid the bobbing effect on suspension bikes. - Mitigation of knee pains: Since Q-Rings imitate a circular (but smaller) chainring around the dead spots, minimise muscle requirements at the dead-spots, just when your knees need it. - Lightweight and Quality: CNC machined from the highest quality 7075 aeronautic-grade aluminium aluminium. Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining provides a precise and consistent manufacturing process. This is especially important when it comes to crafting bike components in order to ensure flawless functionality with respect to all the parts working together. Equipped with the latest CNC resources, ROTOR parts are precisely machined to within a hundredth of a millimetre. The modular system of ALDHU and VEGAST means you can choose the components individually. Simply choose your: 1) Axle 2) Cranks 3) Separate spider and spider mount Q-Rings; or one-piece direct mount chainrings Axles are available in 24mm and 30mm sizes (see here). Cranks are available in 165, 170, 172.5 and 175mm lengths (see ALDHU and VEGAST). Spiders are available in 110 BCD with 4 arms (see here), and 5 arms for riders with existing 5 bolt Q-rings. The 4 bolt spider mount Q-Rings are available in round and oval versions as 53, 52 and 50 outer rings, and 39, 36 and 34 inner rings (see here for the oval inner Q-Rings). The one-piece direct mount chainrings are available in round and oval versions as 53/39, 52/36 and 50/34 combinations. This chainring is optimised for 11-speed drivetrains and will not work with 12-speed. |
