For rides on smooth surfaces, the derailleur features an on/off switch for the chain tensioner. The RD-RX812-LE rear derailleur is compatible with MTB cassettes with a 42T low sprocket max. Dual Control Levers The GRX-Limited Dual Control right hand lever delivers light and responsive shifting for mixed-terrain riding. Both levers bring greater rider control for mixed-terrain riding thanks to Shimano's category-leading hydraulic disc brakes, which feature Servo Wave Action technology. When you pull a Servo Wave brake lever, initial pad travel is fast, so little lever movement is needed to bring the pads into contact with the rotor. The power multiplication factor then increases rapidly at the pad-to-rotor contact so more of the lever stroke is used to apply greater braking power with improved control. Brakes With a low-profile flat mount design, the GRX-Limited BR-RX820-LE hydraulic disc brakes provide greater control for mixed-terrain riding. The Limited Edition BR-RX820 brake callipers have 10% wider pad clearance versus the standard BR-RX810 model, to decrease brake noise. Like all Shimano brakes, the BR-RX820 are easy to maintain. "One Way Bleeding" was developed for quick and easy prevention of air in the hydraulic system. The fluid route throughout the system is streamlined to prevent air bubbles from being captured in the system. One way oil routing plus a funnel tool with mineral oil provides an easy and clean bleeding system.
