The Continental Contact Plus is an all-rounder tyre for rugged roads and beaten paths, with extra puncture protection that promises to never leave you stranded by the side of the road. The Contact Plus provides an updated version of the most popular tread design of all Continental touring tyres to ensure a quick rolling tyre, alongside the ultra fine carcass fabric (180TPI) the rolling resistance is reduced while providing a noticeably more comfortable ride. The sidewalls feature reflective strips for enhanced night time visibility. Contintental Safety Level (puncture resistance): 7/7 CONTACT Plus 'distinctly more resistant' Puncture Resistance Test In the course of the development of the new Contact Plus, a total of nine tyres have been compared with a competitor's tyre model in a susceptibility to piercing (blade) test. The independent Zedler Institute underlined that the Contact Plus would be 'distinctly more resistant' to damage caused by pieces of glass and comparable items than the competitor's tyre. Results On average, the Contact Plus has up to 30% higher puncture protection than the competitor's comparable tyres. The piercing power of the blade with the competitor's test specimens was on average 6% to 23% easier across all sizes than with the comparable Contact Plus tyres. |
