The durable alloy frame, 27.5" wheels and premium suspension make it the perfect ride to dish out and stand up to some serious abuse on the trail. If you're measuring your rides in rad per pound, you won't do better than Remedy 8. ![]() Highlights: - RE:aktiv damping keeps the shock firm for efficient pedalling and pumping, and instantly soaks up bumps to keep you in control It surfs down rough trails and conquers jumps with sure-footed confidence, then flies back to the top with its extra-low 51-tooth climbing gear -The shifter-style, underbar remote dropper post lever is super intuitive and easy to use - Stout 150mm frame is optimised for enduro and technical trails - have a blast! - Straight Shot stiffness for a better ride, Knock Block frame defence - Boost148/110: stronger wheels, more tyre clearance, shorter stays - Superb high-speed control: The greater your control, the harder you can roll. Remedy 8's Mino Link adjustable geometry is tuned for better high-speed control. Upgrades from Remedy 7: - RockShox Lyrik Select+ fork - RockShox Super Deluxe Select+ shock with RE:aktiv - SRAM GX drivetrain with wider range 10-52 cassette - SRAM Code R brakes - Bontrager Drop Line dropper post - 35mm Bontrager Line handlebar and stem - Bontrager XR Trail Pro grips Features: ABP: Other suspension systems firm up under braking. The patented Active Braking Pivot (ABP) allows your suspension to remain active, whether you're pedalling, coasting or braking. This means your bike performs as it was intended, all the time. When your suspension stays active under braking, you stay in control. You can brake later in a turn, maintain better rear wheel traction in stutter bumps, go faster, and just have more fun. Try it on any other system: find a downhill with stutter bumps. Apply the brakes and feel the suspension stiffen. Your rear wheel will skip across the top of the bumps. Now, try it with an ABP-equipped Remedy. Feel the extra control, and imagine how much faster you can go. That's the ABP difference. EVO Link: The EVO Link is Trek's exclusive evolution of the rocker link from the plate-and-bolt style used on most suspension bikes today to a one-piece moulded magnesium rocker link. This lighter link provides a stronger connection at the system's most crucial connection point between the front and rear triangles. RE:aktiv: RE:aktiv brings Formula 1 technology to mountain bike suspension. A Trek exclusive. Trek wanted a shock that could do it all: truly efficient control combined with the ability to respond instantaneously to big impacts. Every so-called solution involved a trade-off, compromising efficiency or responsiveness, or both. To exploit the industry's best air shock - DRCV - required some serious damping expertise. Damping moderates how the suspension behaves, controlling travel speed and resistance. Inspiration was sought from Penske, who create custom suspension systems for motor racing teams. No off-the-shelf solutions, no mass production, no compromise. Penske had already devised an innovative solution for Formula One that allows a valve to instantly open up to absorb an abrupt bump then instantly close up for a stiff, efficient response, with an undetectable transition in between. This is regressive damping. Three years of development by Trek in collaboration with Penske and Fox has refined the technology for mountain bikes. RE:aktiv means the shock acceleration caused by an abrupt hit makes rocks and roots almost disappear, and the instant closure of the valve when the bumps stop/shock acceleration slows results in regaining immediate control. Thus Remedy rides like an XC bike when you want it to, like a downhill bike when you need it to, and you'll never feel the switch. Mino Link Adjustable Geometry: Need an attitude adjustment? Trek solved that. The Mino Link is an adjustment link located on the EVO Link. By flipping the Mino Link, riders can choose between slack or slacker geometry, without negatively affecting suspension performance. Alpha Platinum frame: Trek's high-performance lightweight aluminium alloy is continuously cold extruded and butted at multiple points for ultimate weight reduction and superior strength. Frames built with Alpha Platinum feature a high degree of hydroforming to create the most complex industrial designs for the lightest weight, and are finished using Trek's smooth-weld finishing process. Extended size range: A wider range of sizes than the industry standard provides more options for everyone, from tallest to shortest and all those in between. Because everyone deserves a great ride. Press-fit BB: A bottom bracket shell that allows the bearings to press into the frame rather than threading in as on standard bottom brackets. This provides a wider stance for the frame's tubing juncture, resulting in a stronger frame. This wider stance also mimics the benefits of an OCLV Carbon-only technology, BB95. Downtube Armour: Sometimes you need a little extra protection, so Remedy 8 gets a light, tough external shield. The Armour polymer shield adds reassurance to riders who know their downtube is bound to take some abuse. Dropper post and internal cable routing: Remedy 8 is equipped with a Bontrager dropper post which is great for while-you-ride seat-height adjustments. The remote cable is routed directly through the frame for the sleekest setup you've seen. Control Freak cable management: The lightest, quietest, most versatile cable management system allows any combination of shift, brake, lockout and dropper post lines to be routed through the frame for clean looks and the ultimate custom set-up. ISCG mounts: International Standard Chain Guide mounts offer easy aftermarket chainguide device installation and adjustment. |
